Blessed is Muhammad ; peace and blessings be upon him

In his book “Muhammad (PBUH) as Perceived by Western Thinkers”; Mohamed Saleh Al-Seedik suggests that most exciting feature of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) in western thinkers point of view is his unique and genius personality that went beyond the ultimate manners and ethics of noble human beings. That is what motivated them to write about him

Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) was born in a disunited and weakened society overwhelmed with literacy and ignorance on one hand, and suffering the consequences of unwise traditions. However, he was the teacher of humanity, the leader of mankind and the originator of ethics and virtues. He used to maintain the human primitive natural aspects in himself as a human being and to act upon the supreme principles of advanced noble men. Thus, he was the sun: giving light and warmth to every one, but still far from reach

Out of these statements, the author chose to write this book about Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). In the next posts, we shall provide some extracts from this book concerning how the western thinkers perceived our beloved Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).Hope you will benifit from this

An ideal example of the political leader

The writer focused on the opinions of thinkers who studied the acts of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) and agreed that he was not a regional leader or a patriot. However, they discovered that he is a messenger sent by Allah to the people to guide them to the right way. Allah gave him wisdom and intelligence that exceed the limitations of wisdom given to humans. Prophet Muhammad’s reasonable attitudes and decisions revealed his excellence in politics and the ability to foresee the consequences

Marx; Islamic Philosophy Instructor in London

In his article entitled: “Muhammad (PBUH) An ideal example of the political leader”, Prof. H. Marx; Islamic Philosophy Instructor in London mentioned that “There is no doubt that Prophet Muhammad was the ideal example of religious politician and the noble religious official”.

It is worthy here to mention that the policy adopted by prophet Muhammad is much better than the policy based on parties adopted by European countries which seeks only achieving personal goals”

Marx provided a comparison by saying: “Who are known as (party politicians) of this age care only for the issues related to their own party. Hence, they will be enforced to submit to the will of party members and to do their best to please them … On the other hand, the religious politician seeks higher goals. He always keeps in mind the importance of achieving the good of his own group and consequently the good of the mankind. His sole and exclusive program shall be adherent to the commands of Almighty Allah and applying his tolerant laws accompanied with mercy”
Bernard Shaw

The famous writer and philosopher Bernard Shaw wrote a message after his trip to Bombay, India. The message included: “… I used to consider the religion of Muhammad with much respect because of its vitality. I believe that it is the only religion that includes the ethics of living in different phases of life. So, it became attractive in all places and times”

“I think that if Muhammad was entitled to govern the whole world, he would have been a successful governor able to guide the world to welfare and settle disputes in a way that guarantees peace and assurance” Shaw added

Russian philosopher; Tolestoy
When the Russian philosopher; Tolestoy discovered the racial or religious prejudice against the Islamic religion, he was shaken by jealousy on the right and felt deep within himself that keeping silent shall bring shame on him as a free writer and thinker.

Thus he decided to write a thesis about the Prophet of Islam [Muhammad(PBUH)] and various aspects of his life history in which he said: “There is no doubt that this prophet is one of the senior teachers who provided valuable services to society. He guided his ummah (people) to the light of truth and taught them to tend to peace and stop bloodshed.

He opened the bathes of development and progress for them. Due to the greatness of such work, it was entitled to the man who was given sufficient strength, wisdom and respect"

Philosopher Thomas Carlyle

In his book "Heroes" that reflects the courage of author to support the truth and sink deep to elucidate the position of the honored prophet (PBUH) among the great figures of history, and to refute the suspicions raised by enemies of Islam and planted in the minds of those who know not about this religion. He says: "It brings shame to the civilized people of this generation to listen to the argument trying to prove the falsehood of Islam religion and the falsehood of being Muhammad a prophet”

It is the proper time for us to fight these shameful allegations. The message called for by this prophet was and is still the guiding beacon of millions of people for almost fourteen centuries ago. [color=darkgreen]Is it reasonable that this message adopted by millions of people who have lived on it and died for it is a lie or deceptive trick?
Had lies and misinformation are highly encouraged by creatures, the life would have been of no use.

Thus, it would be a mistake to preview Muhammad as a liar who fabricated false tricks by legitimate means to mislead people for a certain purpose. His message is true and his voice resembles the voice of truth coming from the unknown world.

I love Muhammad because of his nature that is not polluted by hypocrisy and fabrication. The son of Desert [Muhammad (PBUH)] used to be independent in his opinions and not to claim being what he is not. He was not proud of himself nor underestimated himself. He used to dress the same poor clothes he was wearing all his life even when debating with foreign leaders and Roman Caesars and gave them guidelines concerning what they had to do in both this life and the after life”.
